Introducing factions
Celestials have used up all resources on their home land, leaving them with little choice but to try to find a new home. Despite being very intelligent, and despite having a democratic governing structure, Celestials have significant political and internal power struggles.
In war, they prefer ranged and artillery over pure brawlers, but that's not to say they lack melee warriors. Celestials have Spark magic affinity.
The native inhabitants of Ephemeria, divided between many kingdoms. Ephemerals themselves come in a broad variance of characters - some are proud, some are stubborn, cruel or kind or empathic. A people of all professions - warriors, scholars, engineers.
Their war tactics vary but overall a balanced use of melee, ranged and artillery units. Ephemerals have magical affinities to both Spark and Void magic - allowing them to control Khaos.
Infernals are a harsh and war tested people, forever stuck in a power struggle - the strong rule, the weak serve or they die. For this reason, most infernals are constantly in search for more and more power. Infernal scholars and healers either live in hiding or serve a higher power.
Their war tactics prioritize strong melee and artillery units. Infernals have Void magic affinity.
A motley assembly of rejected or abandoned beings consists of Celestial, Ephemeral, and Infernal undesirables, refugees, deserters, outcasts, as well as neutral creatures and monsters. With no allegiance to any faction, they navigate the realm's periphery, forming an opportunistic society defined by resilience, adaptability, and shared defiance.
